LALA is a non-profit institution aimed at developing a new generation of diverse, entrepreneurial, and ethical leaders who will serve the Latin American region.

We identify high-potential, purpose-driven young people between the ages of 14 and 20—many of whom come from historically marginalized communities—and provide them access to programs that develop skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, social innovation, social-emotional learning, and critical thinking. The LALíderes (LALA Leaders) join a lifelong community of changemakers and partner organizations working to tackle the most urgent challenges in the region.

LALA Brazil is the first local hub of LALA Global and aims to bring our organization closer to the local community—which includes LALíderes, partners, and volunteers.

The Field

The Admissions team plays a crucial role in identifying and selecting the future LALíderes who join LALA across Latin America. This team serves as the main gateway to our community, ensuring that the selected youth are aligned with our global values and commitments. Moreover, in line with LALA's mission, the Admissions Department takes on the responsibility of ensuring the inclusion of vulnerable and diverse groups in our selection processes and within our community.

The Job

In this position you will be able to develop while working on relevant impact projects for Latin America! You will support the management of key projects in the Admissions area and will carry out various stages of the selection process for new LALíderes in collaboration and alignment with other areas, volunteers and temporary contractors.

Below you will find the main responsibilities of this position:

  • Attracting and attracting new LALíderes:
    • Carry out outreach actions for the selection process in collaboration with the Outreach Brazil and Outreach Hispanic teams.
    • Monitoring the attraction of applicants, analyzing application metrics to define action plans.
  • Conversion in the selection process funnel:
    • Implementing communication and analysis actions at all stages of the funnel, ensuring the delivery of those selected for the LALA Leadership Camps.
  • Managing the delivery of the Admission Officers (AOs - who are LALíderes who help us at certain stages of the selection process, such as evaluating forms, interviews and alignment meetings):
    • Monitoring the evaluative stages of the selection process, including monitoring the AOs.
    • Developing analyses to support the selection stages and also providing continuous improvements to the selection process as a whole.
  • Managing the Fundraising Candidate Support Program:
    • Conducting online meetings with stakeholders, coordinating volunteer mentors and tracking participants' fundraising goals.
    • Supporting the preparation of program materials and reports.
  • Supporting the delivery of the final shortlist for the Camps:
    • Making contact with the finalists, checking legal documentation and supporting any queries.
    • Ensuring that the correct information is delivered on time to the Programs area.

Here are the technical skills required:

  • Analytical profile: Intermediate or higher level Excel skills, with the ability to use filters, formulas and pivot tables to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Proficiency in English (B2-C1) and Portuguese: Ability to communicate fluently, both written and oral, with the global team. Ability to give presentations, participate in meetings and promote LALA externally. Understanding of foreign documents, contracts and technological platforms, ensuring their correct operation and interpretation.
  • Full university degree (no specific course required).

Here are the desirable technical skills (may be a plus in this position):

  • Proficiency in Spanish: Advanced communication skills, both written and oral, with LAL Leaders and volunteers. Ability to make presentations, attend meetings and promote LALA externally.
