Andrés’ career is driven by a commitment to bringing scientific theory, method, and ethos to bear on pressing public problems. He finds deep meaning in working at the intersections of worlds and disciplines—bridging inner development and outer change, theoretical and methodological traditions, and different fields of practice. At LALA, he maintains a lively dialogue between his own personal development and youth development work, creating a virtuous feedback loop between insight, practice, and lived experience.
He has collaborated with research institutions, transitional justice courts, and applied science and policy organizations. Methodologically, he works across a wide range of approaches, including randomized controlled trials, statistical modeling, rapid ethnography, and qualitative data analysis. His work has been featured in the American Political Science Review. Andrés holds a PhD in Political Science from Yale University and a BA in Political Science from Universidad Javeriana.
