Marco Machado

Marco Machado

Manager of University Placement

Marco is committed to supporting students that dream of studying abroad, particularly in the U.S. He has worked as a teacher for the past 9 years, which informed him of his passion for education. In 2018, he was invited to coordinate an international office and work closely with students applying to U.S. colleges and universities. After an arduous learning process in 2019, Marco had his first student accepted with a full scholarship. It was a moment of clarity for him. In 2020 and 2021, Marco focused his efforts on underprivileged students across Brazil to achieve this dream. For him, though, it is all about the process of creating interconnectedness with the person he is advising. Marco’s approach is known for blending the necessary rigor and fundamental empathy, in which he seeks to find the best in each student he works with.

Currently, Marco is the Manager of the University Placement Initiative, a program that supports students in the application process to U.S. colleges and universities. He is responsible for putting together a comprehensive project that emphasizes both the technical and more personal aspects of the application process, advising students both in groups and individually. Student acceptance is the final goal, but what truly drives Marco the most is construing relationships where everyone involved can voice their thoughts amidst the intersections of trust and love.
